The Asia Pacific Social Forum (APSF) is set to take place from November 1–5, 2025, in Bangkok, Thailand, bringing together grassroots movements, civil society groups, and activists from across the region. Following a two-day hybrid Working Committee meeting held on July 19–20 in Bangkok, key preparations are now underway. Thammasat University has been confirmed as the main venue and will provide auditoriums, meeting rooms, and outdoor spaces to host over 100 workshops, cultural events, and a vibrant solidarity march along Bangkok’s historic democracy route.
The forum will begin with a welcoming ceremony featuring cultural performances and remarks from dignitaries, followed by the solidarity march and a cultural night. Over the five days, participants will engage in thematic discussions, grassroots mobilization, network building, and cultural exchange, ending with an assembly focused on social movements, followed by a culturally rich closing ceremony rooted in Thai tradition. Participation will be free for individuals, while organizations can register to host sessions for a modest fee of USD 50 per event.

A user-friendly registration system is being finalized and will be available soon through the APSF website, which will launch in both English and Thai. Outreach efforts are focused on ensuring broad and inclusive participation, especially from women, indigenous communities, youth, LGBTQ+ groups, labor unions, and environmental defenders. A tentative list of keynote speakers includes prominent figures such as Walden Bello, Malala Yousafzai, Arundhati Roy, Mira Nair, and Francesca Albanese.
APSF 2025 aims to be a powerful platform for solidarity, dialogue, and collective action across the region, aligned with the global vision of the World Social Forum to challenge injustice and build alternatives from the ground up.
